GemSnipe

A skill competition for card snipers

Anyone can look up a price. Can you read the card?

The money in raw cards is not in knowing what a PSA 10 sells for — everybody knows that. It is in looking at a seller's photo and calling, correctly, whether that card is a 10. GemSnipe turns that call into a competition with a measured right answer and a public scoreboard.

Centering Call: guess, then check

  1. You see a real listing photo — the same photo you'd be buying from.
  2. You call the centering by eye: left/right, top/bottom, and whether you'd stake a PSA 10 on it.
  3. Only then does the measurement appear, and you're scored on how close you were.
  4. After 10 calls you're on the public leaderboard.

The measurement is genuinely hidden until you answer — it lives on our server and is only released in exchange for your call. There is nothing to peek at in the page.

The board ranks skill, not spend

You are ranked on accuracy per call. Making more calls does not lift you. Paying us does not lift you. A free player who reads cards better than everyone else finishes above a full-time dealer, and that is the point — a rank here is worth something because it cannot be bought.

LeaderboardHow scoring works

Where the right answers come from

Every card in the game has been through our own review tool: the card's outer edge and its inner print border are located in the photo, the photo's perspective is corrected, and the four border widths are measured. That gives a left/right and top/bottom split to a tenth of a percent — the same measurement a sniper is trying to make with their eyes in two seconds.

Only cards where the tool genuinely found the card's outer edge are used. Read the methodology for exactly what is measured and what is excluded.

What's coming

Centering Call is the daily game. The rest of GemSnipe is being built in the open: card tracking with alerts on new listings for the cards you're hunting, a snipe record that follows your buys through PSA and scores your real gem rate and ROI, and seasons. Pricing is set — see pricing — and card tracking is not open yet. When it is, it will say so here first.
